History

On 12 July 1907, the wooden screw steamer Resolute ran aground at Bellambi Reef, about 1 mile offshore while in ballast on a voyage from Sydney to Kiama for 'blue metal'. Built at Auckland in 1883, the Resolute was registered at Sydney as 113 of 1883, Official No. 83800.

Comments: The Sydney Morning Herald reported on 15 July that the 'Resolute' was travelling from Kiama to Sydney with blue metal. This was in error as shown in the Marine Board reports in the the Sydney Morning Herald and Daily Telegraph of 3/8/1907.
