Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback on the Macleay Coast Destination draft master plan.
The draft master plan was developed for the visitor precincts in Arakoon National Park and Smoky Cape in Hat Head National Park to outline upgrades to visitor infrastructure within the parks.
The planned visitor infrastructure improvements aim to revitalise and significantly improve existing infrastructure to meet current customer expectations, boost the regional visitor economy and contribute to community wellbeing. The master plan also proposed creating a stunning coastal walk between the Trail Bay and Smoky Cape precincts.
We received 151 submissions to the Macleay Coast Destination draft master plan. We appreciate the input provided to us by locals and visitors to this special location.
Next steps
From here, environmental and heritage assessments for the project will be undertaken. These assessment reports, along with the feedback received during the consultation period, will be used to finalise the master plan.
When will I be hearing more?
A summary of the submissions we received and our response to these submissions will be made available when the final master plan is published on our Macleay Coast Destination webpage towards the middle of the year.
