The park is valued for its coastal vistas, ecological richness and the diverse range of accessible recreational opportunities that it provides for the people of Newcastle and surrounding communities. The park has significant Aboriginal cultural values and historic heritage values. The park also provides opportunities for research, education and experiential learning.
