The review considered whether the Upper Hunter monitoring program met its objectives and was run efficiently and cost-effectively. It also assessed any need for improvements and consideration of any other related matters.
The Upper Hunter Air Quality Monitoring Network measures airborne particles, gaseous pollutants and meteorological conditions in the Muswellbrook, Singleton and Upper Hunter Shire local government areas of New South Wales. The network consists of 14 monitoring stations, extending from Merriwa in the north-west to Singleton South in the south-east.
A management response to the review is being prepared by the EPA and the department, and will be presented to the Upper Hunter committee shortly. We will publish this response on the website after this presentation.
