Perisher Range is located in Kosciuszko National Park (KNP) and is the largest alpine resort complex in Australia. Accommodation is provided in several villages including Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes and Guthega.
The plans of management for Far South Coast Escarpment Parks, Kosciuszko National Park and Mummel Gulf National Park and State Conservation Area were previously amended in 2014 to enable a two-year trial of horse riding in wilderness areas. The trial finished in April 2016 and horse riding in these locations is no longer authorised. Initial monitoring results indicate there has been low usage and low environmental risks. It is now proposed to amend the plans of management to allow horse riding to continue in the same wilderness locations until 31 December 2017, while the full evaluation of the trial is undertaken.

Currango Historic Precinct is a pastural property located in the snow belt country at the north end of Kosciuszko National Park on the edge of the Currango Plain near Tantangara Reservoir. The site has a complex environmental and cultural history.

This plan of management amendment enables construction of the Snowies Iconic Walk on the Main Range, construction of the final stages of the shared-use Thredbo Valley Track, adaptive re-use of the Thredbo Ranger Station, and several further minor management and visitor improvements. These amendments were adopted by the Minister for the Environment on 4 October 2019.
These amendments to the Kosciuszko National Park Plan of Management (2006) were adopted by the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment on 10 December 2010.
This plan of management amendment allows specific commercial recreation activities to be undertaken in areas of the park declared as wilderness under the Wilderness Act 1987, by groups of up to 8 people with consent.
This plan of management amendment ensures that Snowy 2.0 works enabled by the Snowy Hydro Corporatisation Act 1997, provided they are approved under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and authorised under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974, are in accordance with National Parks and Wildlife Act.
This amendment to the Kosciuszko National Park Plan of Management alters park accommodation policy and ensures that the protection of the park’s natural and cultural values remains as the primary consideration during implementation of the Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct Master Plan.
