Bulagaranda (Mount Yarrowyck) Aboriginal Area is leased back to the NSW Government and run via the Bulagaranda Board of Management. The site is jointly managed by Anaiwan Aboriginal owners and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). The Board has a majority of Aboriginal owners, along with Armidale Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC), Anaiwan LALC, community and NPWS representation.

Bulagaranda (Mount Yarrowyck) Aboriginal Area protects an Aboriginal cave painting site and much of the natural environment of Mount Yarrowyck, located about a 30-minute drive from Armidale. The reserve is a small part of a broader interconnected landscape that Anaiwan people are physically and spiritually connected to, and it remains an important part of Anaiwan culture.
