This handbook was developed based on the Department of Premier and Cabinet Government Boards and Committees Guidelines, which require that the National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council (the Advisory Council) develop a charter, business plan and code of conduct, and undergo a 5-yearly review.

The handbook fulfils the requirements for a charter and incorporates the code of conduct that applies to Advisory Council members. It also describes the induction program for new members and provides guidance for the effective governance and operation of Advisory Council meetings.
